Ancilla’s Balanced Scoring Overcomes Jets

Plymouth – Ancilla College placed five players in double figures as they outlasted a scrappy Jackson College team, 94-88 Wednesday night in a Michigan Community College Athletic Association game at the LifePlex. Jackson (8-16, 7-8) had 10 blocked shots in the game and that slowed down the Chargers.

Josh Alcindor led the Chargers (18-7, 10-5) with 20 points on 4 of 5 shooting from three-point range and a perfect six of six from the foul line. Mike Green added 17 points, with Ty’Sean Sheppard scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Weston Sage netted 12 points and Mike Hemingway finished with 10.

No. 2 Ancilla travels to play No. 1 Grand Rapids on Saturday with a 3 p.m. start time. Ancilla is still in a tie with Lansing and will host them on Monday, Feb. 25. At 7:30 p.m.
