Atwood, Harrison earn Louisville Slugger/Wilson DI weekly honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Texas’ Reese Atwood and Rutgers’ Ella Harrison captured the Division I Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for contests played March 3-9.

Over four games, Atwood hit .636 (7-for-11) with two doubles, a triple, three home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored. She drew two walks, slugged 1.818 and reached base at a .692 on-base percentage. Atwood homered in all three contests at the Ohio State Tournament with three multi-hit, RBI and runs scored contests. She drove in three runs and was a single short of the cycle versus Kent State, while scoring three times against Oakland.

Harrison twirled three shutouts, including her first career no-hitter against North Dakota, and is currently on a streak of 33 innings without allowing an earned run. She finished the week 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 34 strikeouts, surrendering six hits and walking seven. Against UND, Harrison fanned a career-high 16 batters, the most by a RU pitcher since 2022. She struck out 10 and walked one in a five-inning two-hit shutout at Georgia State and added eight more punchouts (4 hits, zero walks) versus West Georgia.

The awards are voted on by the NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll Committee, which features one member head coach from each of the NCAA’s 31 conferences.
