Balcer Headlines Five CL Athletes to Receive Academic All-America Honors

AUSTIN, Texas – The Crossroads League placed five student-athletes on the CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division Soccer Teams, as announced recently by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Spring Arbor’s Bethany Balcer highlighted the group by being voted as the CoSIDA Women’s Soccer Academic All-America of the Year for the College Division, with Regina Rudder of Mount Vernon Nazarene and Lauren Engelkes of Taylor joining her to give the CL a trio of First-Team selections. Balcer’s teammate, Sarah Klunder also garnered attention by earning a spot on the Second-Team.

On the men’s side, Spencer Aeschliman of Goshen was tabbed as one-of-five defenders to make First-Team Academic All-America, serving as the lone representative for the Crossroads League.
