Barsh Named HoopDirt Coach of the Week

HoopDirt.com NAIA Coach of the Week for his efforts in leading the Fire to a pair of road wins.

SEU remained unbeaten in Sun Conference play with a 98-97 overtime win at Thomas and an 87-82 win at Coastal Georgia. The win at Thomas was the first since 2013 for the Fire, and rallied from a 10-point deficit.

Against Coastal Georgia, SEU was 12-of-15 from 3-point range and came back from a seven-point second half deficit to improve to 7-0 in Sun Conference play.

Total, the Fire were 20-of-30 from 3-point range and were 53-of-70 (75.7%) at the free throw line.

Individually, Jeremy Oppenheimer averaged 21.5 points per game, and was 58% from the field and made seven 3-pointers.

Barsh is now eligible for the 2018-19 HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award, announced at the end of the season. This marks the second consecutive season he will be a finalist.

Southeastern returns home on Thursday to take on St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m.
