Bethel baseball opens fall slate with 6-5 win

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Bethel College Pilots baseball team opened their 2018-19 campaign with some regular season fall ball and took two from the visiting Trinity International Trojans on Saturday afternoon at Jenkins Stadium.  Mason Love provided the fireworks for the first hit of the season, belting a three-run home run to put the Pilots ahead in the first inning of game one.

  • The first three batters of the season reached base for the Pilots as Luke Adams and Syam Lafi reached on walks and Mason Love belted a first-pitch home run over the right field fence for the first hit of the season.
  • Newcomer Jake Wilburn went 5-6 at the plate out of the designated hitter spot.
  • Andrew Bobeck notched his first win of the season with five shutout innings in game one.

  • The Pilots travel to Dearborn, Michigan to take on UM Dearborn on Saturday, September 29 with a double header set to begin at 12:00 pm.
