MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Bethel Baseball team (9-21, 4-16) was bested by Indiana Wesleyan University (21-9, 15-5) in games three and four of the series.
GAME 1
The Pilots fell in game one 10-4 but grabbed their first run in the bottom of the 3rd from Ta’Shaun Coleman as he stole home.
Bethel grabbed one run in the 6th from an RBI double by Jacob Sitterly, which brought Andrew Dillion home.
In the 7th, Bethel scored its last two runs. Jordan Landkrohn singled, and Elijah Gaines brought it home. Sitterly singled just after and brought home Cooper Tolson.
Ty Mickiewicz pitched four innings with ten hits, one strikeout, and four walks.
Peter Wallsmith pitched four innings with three hits, three strikeouts, and two walks.
GAME 2
The Pilots were down 2-0 in the second when Ta’Shaun Coleman had a single RBI to bring in Jesse Stout.
The fourth is when the Pilots struck gold, bringing in four runs. Coleman, Tolson, and Dominic Deisler all singled and scored a run, with Tolson bringing in two runs.
IWU tied the game in the top of the 6th with two runs, and the 7th inning was scoreless.
The game went to the 8th inning, as IWU scored two runs in the top and shut out the Pilots in the bottom to win 7-5.
Riley Thomas pitched five innings with seven hits, three strikeouts, and five walks.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will be at home as they take on Taylor University on April 5th and 6th. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
