Mishawaka, Ind. — Chikara Tanaka, Drew Lutz and Nathan Aerts score double-digits to give Bethel University (1-0) the win 83-67 over Calumet St. Joseph (0-1).
The Japanese native Tanaka was the leading scorer, putting up 22 points going 8-16 from the floor and 3-7 from three-point range.
Granger native Drew Lutz represented Penn High School well with 17 points and making 3-7 from deep.
Aerts had a double-double with 16 rebounds and 13 points but struggled from the line making seven of 12 free throws.
The Pilots had 12 points off turnovers and 15 second chance points.
