Decatur, Alabama — The 6th ranked Bethel University Men’s Soccer team (21-1-1) will move on to their first ever NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Game after a 2-1 win over 20th ranked Rio Grande (Ohio) Red Storm Saturday afternoon at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex.
The game was neck-and-neck in the first half with the Pilots missing a couple of chances in the box but would go into half-time knotted at zero.
Bethel would end the scoring drought in the 57th minute off the foot of Eduardo da Silva on a Penalty Kick. Silva would add to the lead in the 75th minute, scoring on another PK.
The Pilots will look to add one more game to their 21-game win streak when they play the winner of Mobile (Ala.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). The National Championship Game will take place on Monday, December 5th at 3:00 PM EST.
