FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The NAIA eighth-ranked Bethel Pilots Men’s Soccer team (9-2-2, 3-0-1) scored early but tied the Saint Francis (Ind.) Cougars (7-3-3, 0-1-3) on a cold and wet Saturday night.
Piero Sabroso worked quickly with a goal in the first minute to set the quickest goal scored this season; Sabroso tallied his sixth goal this season.
Saint Francis’ Alessandro Bazan tied the match in the 66th minute to answer the early Pilot goal, but neither side could punch another home after regulation, ending in a tie 1-1.
The tie marks the first time in Bethel Pilots’ Men’s Soccer history that Bethel tied the Cougars. Previously, the Pilots had a nine-match winning streak over USF and now have a record of 10-3-1 all-time against the Cougars in Fort Wayne, Ind.
