Bethel University honored with the NCCAA Presidential Award for first time in school history

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has honored Bethel University (Ind.) with the school’s first Presidential Award title after the successes in all NCCAA-sponsored sports in the 2024-25 season.

The NCCAA is pleased to present an annual All-Sports Award to be presented to one Division I and one Division II member institution. Points are earned based on a team’s finish in an NCCAA National Championship. At least 33% of the division’s membership must sponsor that sport in order for it to be eligible for the point system. Softball (w), Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field (m & w), Golf (m & w), Volleyball (m), and Baseball (m) serve as “uni-division” championships in which either division is eligible for points. Currently, Division I sports include: Volleyball (w), Soccer (m & w), Cross Country (m & w), and Basketball (m & w) in addition to the “uni-division” championships. Division II sports include: Volleyball (w), Soccer (m & w), Cross Country (m & w), and Basketball (m & w) in addition to the “uni-division” championships. An award shall be presented at the Annual Convention to the institution with the most points in each division.

Points are awarded as follows:

  • 1st place – 12 points
  • 2nd place – 9 points
  • 3rd place – 8 points
  • 4th place – 7 points
  • 5th place – 6 points
  • 6th place – 5 points
  • 7th place – 4 points
  • 8th place – 3 points
  • 9th place – 2 points
  • 10th place – 1 points
  • The Pilots scored points in 10 of the 16 sports that are scoreable under the Presidential Award.
  • Women’s Golf: 9 pts
  • Men’s Golf: 9 pts
  • Men’s Cross-Country: 5 pts
  • Women’s Cross-Country: 4 pts
  • Women’s Soccer: 8 pts
  • Women’s Volleyball: 7.5 pts
  • Men’s Indoor Track and Field: 6 pts
  • Women’s Indoor Track and Field: 9 pts
  • Men’s Outdoor Track and Field: 7 pts
  • Women’s Outdoor Track and Field: 7 pts
