The win marks a four-year anticipated milestone for the Bethel Women’s Basketball Team. The last time that the Pilots won their first three games of the season was in 2021, when they defeated Holy Cross (98-74), Trinity Christian (125-82) and No. 20 Ranked Olivet Nazarene (82-74).

Isabel Scales was the leading scorer for the Pilots with 16 points, shooting 50% from the field (5-10).

Jazmyn Smith hit another double-double with 11 points at 13 boards. The senior forward shared, “This was a good weekend for the team! We battled late last night and turned around early this morning…played a really physical game, and came out on top! Basketball is a team sport and I think we really showed that this weekend!”

Justice Williams was second on the team for total rebounds (seven).

Freshman Luvrain Gaskins had her highest scoring game in Bethel blue with seven points, shooting 42% from the field (3-7) in her 19 minutes of action.

Head Coach Scott Polsgrove shared, “Very proud of how we played despite such a short turnaround from last night. We again had very balanced scoring and great energy from everyone.”

The Pilots will next face the Indiana Columbus Crimson Pride (1-3) on Wed, Nov. 12 at 6 PM. The matchup will be held on Bethel’s home court, the Gates Gymnasium.
