MISHAWAKA, Ind. —The Undefeated Bethel Women’s Basketball Team (5-0) posted another win over the Rochester Christian University Warriors (1-3) on Saturday afternoon during Homecoming.

Saturday’s 72-64 win adds to the stellar start of the season that the Pilots began on Oct. 30 against Holy Cross.

Bethel Women’s Basketball has not won the first five games of their season since the 2007-2008 Academic Year.

Justyce Williams led the Pilots in total points scored (14), shooting 50 percent from the field (5-10). Williams also posted a season high for steals (three).

Isabel Scales posted seven boards (four offensive and three defensive).

Head Coach Scott Polsgrove shared, “Very proud of my ream with (the) gutsy win. We had a great five minute stretch in the fourth quarter that took a tie game to a 14 point lead…Very good offense execution and tough defense.”

With 8:34 remaining in the fourth, Mariah Claywell sank a shot from downtown to break the standoff (48-45). The senior also made her next attempted three at 4:51 as the Pilots led by ten (61-51).

Gracie Lambes shot the final five Pilot points, making a shot behind the arc (1:34) before knocking down both shots at the charity stripe (0:54).

The Pilots’ first Crossroads League test will be held this Wed, Nov. 19 at 5 PM in the Gates Gymnasium. Bethel will host the No. 4 Marian University Knights, who are also undefeated at 5-0 following their win over No. 19 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
