Bethel Women’s Soccer falls at Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Women’s Soccer team (4-2-1) took on Cornerstone University (3-1-0) on the road but fell short after the game saw seven goals in total.

 

The Pilots kicked off the match with an early goal from Leena Thomas, assisted by Audrey Lerch.

 

Near the end of the first half, Giulia Franco added the second goal to increase the lead to 2-0.

 

Cornerstone University opened strong and scored three unanswered goals within six minutes to put them up 3-2.

 

Bethel continued to fight as they tied it up in the 56th minute, with Autumn Beaudoin finding Aubrey Vervynckt to score.

 

In the 74th minute, Cornerstone found their fourth goal in the match to give them the lead, and Bethel was unable to match the goal, resulting in a 4-3 loss for Bethel.
