Bethel Women’s Soccer falls in Semi-finals at No.7 IWU

Marion, Ind. — The Bethel Pilots Women’s Soccer team (9-8-1, 4-5-0) took on #7 Indiana Wesleyan University (15-1-4, 7-0-2) in the Crossroads League Semifinals and fell 2-0.

The Pilots were limited in shots, with two coming from the first half and four from the second half.

IWU scored in the middle of the first half with a goal from Ashley Townsend in the 31st minute.

Townsend scored her second in the 62nd minute to give IWU a 2-0 lead and win over the Pilots.

Jael Schubert had four saves on the night, while Bethel’s offense forced three corner kicks.

Bethel now waits to see if they will take part in the NAIA or NCCAA tournament moving forward. The NAIA Selection Show is on Monday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. est. and the NCCAA will announce the tournament field the week of the 13th.
