MISHAWAKA, Ind.—The Bethel Pilots (14-9, 6-4) fell to the No. 13 Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougars (17-5, 8-2) on Wednesday evening in the Gates Gymnasium.

Breyana Bosket led the team in kills (nine).

Paige Franz led the team in service aces (three) and digs (18).

Despite a strong first and third set showing, the Pilots most struggled in set two, which resulted in a 25-16 loss.

In the beginning of the second set, Sophia Beeson scored a kill as the Pilots were up 9-7.

Mount Vernon answered with a five-point run which Bethel could not recover from.

Head Coach Erica Dregits shared, “That’s a tough loss against a quality opponent. Too many errors on our side made it hard to find rhythm, but this team is resilient. We’ll own it, fix it, and get back to work.”

Next, the Pilots will host the Huntington University Forresters for Senior Day this Sat, Oct. 11th. First serve is set for 1:00 PM, and Seniors Ainsley Tacke and Breyana Bosket will be honored for their contributions to the Bethel Women’s Volleyball Program.
