MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Paige Franz of the Bethel University women’s volleyball team has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week. This recognition comes after a standout performance at the Onset Invitational, hosted by the University of Saint Francis (Ind.), where the Pilots posted a 3-1 record.
Franz, a key defensive player for Bethel, recorded a total of 73 digs over four matches in the tournament. She earned 19 digs in the match against Talladega (Ala.), 11 against IU Southeast, 16 versus Defiance (Ohio), and 27 in a competitive match against No. 16-ranked IU Kokomo. This is Franz’s first NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honor this season.
The Bethel University women’s volleyball team will next compete at the Siena Heights Invite in Adrian, Mich., on Friday, Aug. 30. They are scheduled to face the Trinity Christian Trolls at 4 p.m., followed by a match against the IU Northwest Red Hawks at 6 p.m.
