Big Ten Network Welcomes Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington With Full Day of Original Programming

Annual football training camp tour visits Washington on Aug. 2

 

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Big Ten Network today announced its programming schedule for Aug. 2, as Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington officially join the Big Ten Conference. BTN will debut brand-new original programming dedicated to each school, along with classic games showcasing memorable moments across various sports. Throughout the celebratory day, there will also be interviews and analysis with key figures from all four programs.

 

Coverage begins with four hours of classic games from all four schools, beginning with USC Volleyball Classic: USC at UCLA – 9/20/17 at 8 a.m. ET and followed by UCLA Women’s Soccer Classic: USC at UCLA – 11/3/17 at 9 a.m. ET. Oregon Volleyball Classic: Oregon at Penn State – 8/27/11 debuts at 10 a.m. ET, with Washington Soccer Classic: Washington at Indiana – 9/1/23 at 11 a.m. ET.

 

A special one-hour edition of B1G Today debuts at noon ET, hosted by Dave Revsine, Rick Pizzo and Jake Butt, as they discuss the four new programs joining the Big Ten. The episode will re-air at 5 p.m. ET and again at 12:30 a.m. ET.

 

UCLA: UCLA will have a dedicated two hours of programming beginning with B1G Welcome: UCLA at 1 p.m. ET, a 30-minute show highlighting the Bruins’ programs and traditions. At 1:30 p.m. ET, The B1G Moment: Tyus Edney takes a look at the story behind Edney’s last-second shot in the Round of 32 of the 1995 NCAA Tournament. Rounding out the UCLA coverage is B1G Trailblazers: Ann Meyers Drysdale, a one-hour interview with the standout Bruins alum who was the first woman to sign a contract in the NBA.

 

Oregon: Beginning at 3 p.m. ET, two hours of Oregon programming kicks off with B1G Welcome: Oregon, giving fans an inside look at the Ducks. The B1G Moment: Women’s Track Triple Crown debuts at 3:30 p.m. ET and highlights the historic achievements of the 2017 women’s track team. At 4 p.m. ET, B1G Trailblazers: Tinker Hatfield provides a sit-down with Hatfield and tells the story of his time at Oregon and his legendary career at Nike.

 

USC: Two hours of programming focused on USC kicks off at 6 p.m. ET with B1G Welcome: USC, followed by The B1G Moment: The Catch at 6:30 p.m., featuring Erik Affholter’s game-winning touchdown catch against UCLA in 1987. At 7 p.m. ET, four-time All-American golfer Lizette Salas sits down with Revsine to discuss her life as a first-generation college graduate and member of USC’s 2008 women’s golf national championship team on B1G Trailblazers: Lizette Salas.

 

Football Training Camp Tour: Throughout the month of August, all four schools will be featured in Football Training Camp, one-hour episodes previewing each program directly from campus. Revsine, Ashley Adamson, Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and Yogi Roth will travel to all 18 campuses from coast-to-coast, providing expert analysis and interviews with coaches and student athletes at each stop. Football Training Camp: Washington debuts at 8 p.m. ET on Aug. 2, and Football Training Camp: Oregon will debut on Aug. 3. The show will visit UCLA on Aug. 12, and will be on-site at USC on Aug. 13. Washington: Following the stop at Huskies’ training camp in Seattle, B1G Welcome: Washington debuts at 9 p.m. ET. At 9:30 p.m. ET, The B1G Moment: Isaiah Thomas takes a look back at Thomas’ championship-winning shot over Arizona in the 2011 conference tournament. B1G Trailblazers: Detlef Schrempf debuts at 10 p.m. ET and tells the story of Schrempf and his journey from Germany to Seattle to the NBA.

 

A new episode of Campus Eats: West Coastin’ debuts at midnight ET, where Jenny Dell and Troy Johnson visit El Cholo at USC, Killer Burger in Eugene, Perry’s Cafe and Beach Rentals near UCLA, and Ivar’s Salmon House right off the Washington waters. The episode will re-air at 2:30 a.m. ET.

 

Select classic games will air on BTN to close out the day, beginning with UCLA Football Classic: USC at UCLA – 11/17/12 at 1:30 a.m. ET.  Washington Football Classic: 2023 Pac-12 Championship: Washington vs. Oregon – 12/1/23 airs at 4 a.m. ET and USC Football Classic: USC at Ohio State – 9/12/09 rounds out the day’s coverage at 5 a.m. ET.
