• Seven Big Ten teams were among this week’s AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25, announced on Monday: #1 Nebraska, #10 Wisconsin, #11 Purdue, #16 USC, #17 Indiana, #19 Minnesota and #24 Penn State. Michigan and UCLA are receiving votes in this week’s poll.
• Six Big Ten teams are among the Top 25 in the latest RPI rankings: #1 Nebraska, #11 Purdue, #12 Wisconsin, #14 Minnesota, #15 Indiana and #18 USC. Five additional teams are among the top 50, including #34 Penn State, #36 Michigan, #37 Michigan State, #45 UCLA and #46 Illinois.
• Six of the 14 2025 AVCA Division I Player of the Year semifinalists hail from the Big Ten. The list includes Nebraska’s Andi Jackson, Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly, Penn State’s Kennedy Martin, Purdue’s Kenna Wollard and Wisconsin’s Mimi Colyer. The finalists will be revealed on Dec. 15, and the Player of the Year will be announced in Kansas City at the AVCA Awards Banquet on Friday, Dec. 19.
• Four matches remain on each of the Big Ten schedules. BTN is set to carry a doubleheader on Wednesday, starting with No. 10 Wisconsin vs. No. 11 Purdue at 8:30 p.m. ET in Madison, Wis. No. 16 USC hosts Oregon at 10:30 p.m. ET on the network. FS1 will broadcast a pair of matches on Thursday, with Iowa at No. 1 Nebraska (8 p.m. ET), followed by Illinois at RV UCLA (10 p.m. ET). BTN finishes its coverage on Sunday with a pair of matches: No. 19 Minnesota at Rutgers (4:30 p.m. ET) and Northwestern at No. 10 Purdue (6:30 p.m. ET).
• Indiana went 2-0 last week and matched the program record with 12 Big Ten wins in a single season. The Hoosiers also matched the program record for single season wins with 21.
• Michigan has won four matches in a row and seven of its last eight matches. The Wolverines are receiving votes for the third straight week and are #35 in the latest RPI rankings.
• Oregon notched its first top 10 road win since 2023 with a 3-2 victory at then-No. 9 Purdue on Saturday. It’s the Ducks’ third ranked win of the season.
• Wednesday’s match between Wisconsin and Purdue marks the 12th consecutive match in which the two programs are both ranked.
• Playing host to No. 1 Nebraska, UCLA and USC each set program attendance records at their respective venues. UCLA set the Pauley Pavilion volleyball record with 10,498 fans and USC welcomed 9,072 fans to the Galen Center, a school record for women’s volleyball for the Trojans.
• Nebraska has been included in attendance records at 12 of the 18 Big Ten facilities over the last three seasons.
• UCLA snapped Nebraska’s 48-set win streak in a 3-1 loss for the Bruins at Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins are the first and only Big Ten team this season to win a set against Nebraska.
• The Huskers and Badgers are No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, nationally in terms of hitting percentage. Nebraska’s .348 efficiency leads the nation, followed by the Badgers, who are hitting at a .308 clip. Purdue (.13th – .289), Indiana (14th – .289), Michigan (14th – .284) and Minnesota (20th – .278) are also among the top 25.
