Big Ten | Women’s Volleyball | 2025 Standings
- The Big Ten Conference and Big Ten Network (BTN) announced a newly created In-Season Volleyball Challenge. Partnering with Discover®, the official credit card of the Big Ten Conference, the inaugural Discover In-Season Volleyball Challenge will debut during the 2025 regular season conference schedule, starting Oct. 1, encompassing all 18 Big Ten Volleyball programs. Select conference matches played during the month of October will count toward the Discover In-Season Volleyball Challenge. Each team will play five designated challenge matches throughout the month, with the winner determined by the highest win total across the five games. Designated matches for the Challenge will be noted on the adjacent schedule.
- The Big Ten | Discover In-Season Volleyball Challenge concludes this Friday, October 31. Nebraska and Purdue remain atop the Challenge standings at 4-0. To conclude Challenge play, Nebraska visits Wisconsin on Friday for a nationally ranked televised matchup at the UW Field House and Purdue heads to Michigan State for a 7 p.m. ET first serve on B1G+. Tiebreaking procedures will be used if two or more teams have identical records at the conclusion of the Challenge.
- The Big Ten Network will carry a tripleheader on Friday, starting with Penn State at Michigan at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by Nebraska at Wisconsin at 9 p.m. ET. BTN will conclude its Halloween coverage out west for Oregon at Washington at 11 p.m. ET. The network is set to air another tripleheader on Sunday, starting with Wisconsin at Ohio State (Noon ET), followed by Oregon at Nebraska (2 p.m. ET) and Indiana at Penn State (4 p.m. ET).
- Seven Big Ten teams were among this week’s AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25, announced on Monday: #1 Nebraska, #10 Purdue, #11 Wisconsin, #19 Penn State, #20 Minnesota, #22 USC and #24 Indiana. Illinois and UCLA are receiving votes in this week’s poll.
- Seven Big Ten teams are among the Top 25 in the latest RPI rankings: #2 Nebraska, #9 Purdue, #12 Minnesota, #14 Indiana, #16 Wisconsin, #21 USC and #22 Penn State. The seven teams are tied with the Big 12 for the most of any conference in the Top 25. Five additional teams are among the Top 50, including #27 Illinois, #30 Michigan, #33 Michigan State, #42 UCLA and #43 Washington.
- Indiana is off to its best 10-game start to Big Ten play after reaching the halfway point in conference play at 7-3. It surpasses the 6-4 start from 1985 and 2023.
- Nebraska extended its streak of consecutive sweeps to 11 and consecutive sets won to 34 with a pair of 3-0 victories against Northwestern and Michigan State this weekend. Both streaks are the best for the program since 2007.
- Purdue has risen one spot to No. 10 in the AVCA poll, re-entering the top 10 for the second time this season. Purdue has been ranked for 137 consecutive weeks, has ranked in the top 10 for 43 weeks since the Spring 2021 season, and has spent 71 of the last 88 weeks in the top 15.
- USC head coach Brad Keller reached 100-career wins on Sunday as USC collected its fourth win in a row with a 3-1 victory over Washington at the Galen Center.
