FORT WAYNE, Ind.–The Bethel Pilots (4-2) suffered their first losses of the season against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils (1-1) and the Fisk University Bulldogs (2-0) on Friday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Breyana Bosket was a standout player for the Pilot offense for total blocks against Lawrence Tech (five) and a season high of fourteen kills against Fisk.

Taylor Delp posted a season high of 12 kills against Lawrence Tech, and recorded three blocks against the Blue Devils.

Defensive Specialist Lily Vester had her best performance of the year, with a total of 28 digs between the two games.

Setter Haley Biedenbach shared, “Today may not have ended how we hoped, but I’m proud of how our team is facing adversity and growing as a unit! We love each other deeply and it shows on and off the court.”

Head Coach Erica Dregits shared, “When the pressure was on, our unforced errors killed our momentum and we couldn’t get in a rhythm. Not the outcome we wanted, but we will grow because of these games and come back again to compete tomorrow.”

Tomorrow the Bethel Pilots will take on the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers at 11:00 a.m. with the matchup against the University of the Cumberlands to follow at 5:30 p.m.
