BROWNSTOWN CENTRAL’S REED MAY NAMED 2021  COLTS ‘COACH OF THE WEEK’ FOR WEEK 6

 


Indianapolis – Reed May of Brownstown Central High School has been named the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week, presented by CenterPoint Energy, the Indianapolis Colts announced today.
May was nominated and selected for the award after earning his 280th career win when his Class 3A No. 8 Braves won at Class 5A Seymour. Coach May has recorded 29 straight winning seasons at
Brownstown.

The following coaches were recognized as honorable mentions for Week 6:

Region 1: Eric Schreiber Jr. – Gary West Region 6: Brian Dugger – Martinsville

Region 2: Craig Koehler – Concord Region 7: Kyle Ray – Heritage Christian

Region 3: Josh Gerber – Norwell Region 8: Michael Kelly – Hamilton Southeastern

Region 4: Blake Betzner – Carroll (Flora) Region 9: Nick Hart – Gibson Southern

Region 5: Alyx Brandewie – Manchester

This season marks the 22 nd year the Colts are recognizing outstanding high school football coaches throughout the state. Each week following a high school football weekend, one coach will be announced as the honoree. All high school head coaches in the state are eligible regardless of their school size, league or division. Coaches are evaluated on various factors including the coach’s impact on the team, school and community, as well as the team’s performance. The honorees are selected by a panel of football media, former athletic directors, and other football representatives from across the state.

At the conclusion of the high school season, each winning coach will receive a $1,000 donation from the NFL Foundation, as well as a commemorative plaque.
