CENTIER BANK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK – 10-27-18

The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Hammond Bishop Noll sophomore soccer player Bruno Zamora and Chesterton junior soccer player Robbie Capehart.

In Friday’s Class 2A boys’ state championship match held at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Zamora accounted for the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute to lead the Warriors (20-2) to a 1-0 victory over Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter for the program’s first title.

In Saturday’s Class 3A state title match against Zionsville at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Capehart’s goal in the 94th minute lifted the Trojans (21-0-2) to a 1-0 triumph and their first state crown.

Special recognition also goes out to South Bend Saint Joseph senior Isabel Ortiz (Class 2A girls soccer), Wheeler senior Lauren Putz (Class 1A girls soccer), and Hammond Bishop Noll senior Brandon Fuentes (Class 2A boys soccer), who were all recipients of the IHSAA mental attitude award in their respective classes.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
