The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Merrillville senior quarterbacks Aahric Whitehead and Peter Rodriguez and Elkhart Central running back Mark Brownlee.

In the Pirates’ 48-20 win over No. 4 (Class 2A) Andrean, Whitehead was stellar through the air, completing 11-of-15 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Rodriguez was equally as outstanding on the ground, running the ball 11 times for 121 yards with three scores and also completed all four of his passes for an additional 79 yards. It was Merrillville’s largest offensive output since the 2013 campaign.

In the final battle for the Mangy Lion, Brownlee ran 28 times for 216 yards and four touchdowns to help the Blazers to a 41-21 win over rival Elkhart Memorial. The Ball State recruit also caught three passes for 45 yards for Elkhart Central, which will merge with Memorial next season.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
