Chambers Earns Third CCAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor
CHICAGO — IU South Bend women’s basketball standout Bradie Chambers has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, the league announced Tuesday, following another impactful week on both ends of the floor.
Chambers played a key role in a pair of Titan victories, helping IU South Bend secure road and home wins over Viterbo and St. Francis (Ill.). The win over St. Francis marked the first loss of the season for the Saints, highlighting the significance of the defensive effort.
Across the two games, Chambers averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game, while providing relentless pressure and physicality on defense. She began the week with 18 points, seven rebounds, and three steals in the road win at Viterbo. Chambers followed that performance with a double-double, going for 15 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks, and a steal against St. Francis.
The honor marks Chambers’ third CCAC Defensive Player of the Week award and IUSB Women’s Basketball’s fifth individual weekly honor of the season.
IU South Bend returns to action at Judson on Wednesday, battling the Eagles at 6:30 pm.
