Chargers Fall in Opening Round Action

Danville, IL – Ancilla stayed close until about the 15 minute mark of the first half, #6 Milwaukee Area Tech then turned up their vaulted defense and turned a seven point advantage into a 14 point halftime advantage on their way to a 101-87 first round victory in the 2019 NJCAA Division II Men’s Championship Wednesday afternoon.
Ancilla, led by three South Bend natives today, will play Morton at 1 p.m. Thursday (tomorrow) in an elimination game. If the Chargers win, they could play two more games if they stay victorious.
Ty’Sean Sheppard (South Bend Clay) led the Chargers (22-10) with 21 points and 12 rebounds, with Mike Green (South Bend Adams) scoring 20 and Mike Hemingway South Bend, Marian) finished with 13.
Ancilla has an opportunity to finish seventh in the tournament if they win three more games.
