Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | December 15-21

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top individual performances from December 15 through 21. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.
Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Kayce Warfel, Taylor
Warfel led Taylor past OUAZ and Arizona Christian with 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game, while shooting 40.0 percent from beyond the arc, helping RV TU to a 13-0 start.

Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Addie Shank, Huntington
Shank led No. 20 Huntington past Arizona Christian and Embry-Riddle with 11.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest. The sophomore center had at least 10 rebounds, two steals and one block in both victories.

Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Izaiah Day, Taylor
Day was on fire for RV Taylor in wins over Milligan and Saint Thomas, netting 28.5 points per victory while shooting 18-of-24 from the field for a blistering 75.0-percent clip. The scoring guard also hit 13-of-16 tries from deep for an 81.3-percent rate.

Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Kaden Johnson, Huntington
Johnson powered RV Huntington to upsets of No. 4 Arizona Christian and No. 13 Hope International with 15.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. The senior post had double-digit rebounds in each game, with 15 boards and two steals against ACU.

Women’s Bowler of the Week
Abigail Kenestrick, Goshen
Kenestrick averaged 201 pins over five games to win the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic. The Goshen sophomore totaled 1,005 pins and had three games with at least 200 pins.

Men’s Bowler of the Week
Adam Snyder, Goshen
Snyder averaged 206.6 pins per game, totaling 1,033 pins over five contests for Goshen at the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic. Snyder placed 16th at the event and had four games with scores over 200.
