Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | December 18-24
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top individual performances from December 18 through 24. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Ella Collier, Marian
Collier poured in 25 points to lead No. 6 Marian past Oakland City by a 76-63 score. Collier shot 47.4 percent from the field in the game and hauled in seven rebounds.
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Elijah Malone, Grace
Malone powered No. 1 Grace to a 99-68 blowout of Cornerstone by sinking 10-of-12 shots from the field and ending with 24 points, seven rebounds, four blocks and three assists in just 23 minutes of work.
Women’s Bowler of the Week
Tandess O’Neal, Marian
O’Neal took finishes of eighth and 16th in a pair of Marian tournaments, registering scores of 953 and 938 to lead the Knights.
Men’s Bowler of the Week
Nolan Blessing, Marian
Blessing finished fifth and 11th in Marian’s two events, posting totals of 1,086 and 1,112 pins in the two outings.
