Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | December 25-31

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Tuesday, recognizing the league’s top individual performances from December 25 through 31. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Alize Tripp, Spring Arbor
Tripp led RV Spring Arbor past No. 14 Rio Grande by a 93-84 margin by pouring in a career-high 36 points on 10-of-15 shooting. Tripp shot six-of-eight from deep and dished out eight assists in the Cougars’ fifth-straight win.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Gabe Newhof, Spring Arbor
Newhof posted his seventh 30-point game of the season with 34 points on 14-of-21 shooting from the field in Spring Arbor’s 99-60 win over Siena Heights. Newhof also grabbed seven rebounds in his 22 minutes of work.
