Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | December 29-January 4
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top individual performances from December 29 through January 4. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.
Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Abbey McNally, Marian
McNally went off for No. 5 Marian in wins over Ohio Christian and RV Taylor. The senior All-American averaged 27.0 points per game on 22-of-27 shooting from the field for a 75.9-percent clip. McNally also posted 12.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game for MU.
Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Abbey McNally, Marian
McNally did it in all phases for No. 5 Marian in wins over Ohio Christian and RV Taylor. McNally helped the Knights stay undefeated with 27.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game.
Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Austin Cripe, Bethel
Cripe helped No. 7 Bethel to a trio of wins by posting 22.3 points and 5.0 assists per game. Along with those numbers, the junior guard had at least eight field goals in each game, shooting 62.8 percent from the floor.
Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Karson Rogers, Saint Francis
Rogers was active in USF’s wins over IU-Northwest and Goshen, posting 14.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per outing. The sophomore also poured in 21.0 points per game and dished out 4.0 assists per contest for the Cougars.
