Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | December 6-12

 

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top athletes from December 6 through 12. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Lilli Frasure, Indiana Wesleyan
Frasure led No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan to victories over Georgetown and Lindsey Wilson with 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists per win. The freshman guard shot 51.5 percent from the floor, making 17-of-35 field goals in the two games.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Zac Owens, Bethel
Owens powered Bethel to a 106-79 win over Judson, scoring 29 points in 27 minutes of work. Owens shot 11-of-15 from the floor and four-of-five from deep, to go with three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

 

Women’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Jocelynn Burton, Marian

Burton helped the Marian 4×400-meter relay team to a first-place finish at the Indiana Tech Invite and also took third place with an A-standard time of 7.72 in the 60-meters.

Women’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Arriana Benjamin, Marian

Benjamin impressed in her debut with Marian, winning the weight throw and shot put events at Indiana Tech in the season opener. The junior automatically qualified for NAIA Nationals in each event.

Men’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Haile Stutzman, Huntington

Stutzman automatically qualified for NAIA Nationals in the 3,000-meters, topping a group of 11 runners with a race-winning time of 8:24.

Men’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Bryce Carmack, Marian

Carmack opened his season with a first-place finish in the pole vault at the Indiana Tech Invite. The senior hit the A-standard and topped a field of 13 competitors with a height of 4.75 meters.
