Recap of the Final Day at the 2024 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship

MARION, Ind. – The 2024 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship closed with Cumberlands (Ky.) raising the Red Banner after a closely contested meet as Marian (Ind.) trailed by only two points.

  • Dylan Uhrich of British Columbia won the 3000m steeplechase for his first outdoor title in the event and the program’s fourth with a time of 9:03.26.
  • Southeastern won the program’s first outdoor 4x100m relay with a time of 39.79.
  • Luca Santorum of Cumberlands (Ky.) won the Patriot’s second consecutive outdoor 1500m title with a time of 3:47.79.
  • Tajean Houston of Texas Wesleyan went back-to-back in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.77, which was better than his 2023 time of 13.87.
  • Barnabas Aggerh of William Carey (Miss.) captured the Crusader’s first outdoor 100m title with a time of 10.01 with the wind at +3.1.
  • Collins Mokuah of Indiana Tech set a new personal best in the 400m hurdles with a time of 50.88.
  • Myles Ellis of MidAmerica (Kan.) set a new personal best in the 400m with a time of 45. 51. This title was the first outdoor 400m title for MNU.
  • Michael Long of Ave Maria (Fla.) won the 800m with a time of 1:49.41. The title was the first outdoor track and field title for Ave Maria.
  • James Williamson III of Southeastern (Fla.) won his first outdoor 200m title for himself and the program with a time of 20.49.
  • Evert Silva of Oklahoma City won his first and the program’s first outdoor 5000m title with a time of 14:31.06.
  • For the first time in program history, Dordt (Iowa) won the outdoor 4x400m relay with a time of 3:06.30.
  • Zach Zohner of Concordia (Neb.) won the Bulldog’s first outdoor title in the pole vault since Lucas Wiechman in 2017. Zohner won the title with a mark of 5.25m, which matched his current personal best time.
  • Michael Tatnall of Voorhees (S.C.) won the program’s second outdoor title overall and first title in the field events. Tatnall won the triple jump title with a mark of 15.82m.
  • Deandre Leith of Columbia International (S.C.) won his first and the program’s first outdoor title in the shot put with a personal best of 18.09m.
  • Cumberlands (Ky.) won the 2024 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship Red Banner after a closely contested championship. The Patriots won by a margin of two points over runner-up Marian (Ind.).

Awards

The top eight finishers in each event earned All-America honors.

Outstanding Performer: James Williamson III, Southeastern (Fla.), for his near record-breaking performance in the 200m

Most Valuable Performer: Evert Silva, Oklahoma City, who scored 26 points overall.
