Defiance, IWU claim Mideast League Players of the Week

The Defiance Yellow Jackets earn two of three Mideast League Player of the Week honors, while No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan is recognized for their performance on special teams.

Offensive Player of the Week
Tristan Thomas, Defiance
So., RB, Akron, Ohio (Notre Dame [Ohio])

  • Rushed for 109 yards on just ten carries in the Yellow Jackets’ win over Madonna
  • Scored three rushing TDs in the win
  • Earns his first career MSFA Player of the Week honor

Defensive Player of the Week
Jay Graves, Defiance
Sr., DB, Batavia, Ill. (Batavia)

  • Returned an interception for a touchdown in Defiance’s win over Madonna
  • Finished the day with four tackles and a half-tackle for loss
  • Earns his first career MSFA Player of the Week award

Special Teams Player of the Week
Deven Arevalo, Indiana Wesleyan
So., WR, Reno, Nev. (Reno)

  • Blocked a punt that was returned for a TD in No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan’s win over Lawrence Tech
  • Made seven tackles throughout the day
  • Earns his first career MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week award, and his third Player of the Week award this season overall
