This continues a successful year of academic achievement for the Valpo football program. Annis became the first player in program history to be named the Pioneer Football League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, leading a group of six Beacons named to the Academic All-PFL teams including five on the first team, tied for the league lead. In addition, Valpo matched a program record by placing 64 individuals on the PFL Academic Honor Roll.
