LOUISVILLE, Ky. – As Oklahoma maintained the top poll position, Duke elevated to No. 2 in this week’s USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. Behind a sweep of No. 15 Virginia Tech, the Blue Devils (29-3) leapfrogged three programs for their highest-ever ranking in the NFCA’s national poll.

The Sooners (34-1) took care of business by sweeping RV Kansas on the road and extending their win streak to 16 games, the longest active streak in Division I.

Duke, along with OU, LSU, Washington and Missouri, were the only programs in the top 15 that enjoyed unblemished weeks. The Blue Devils outscored the 15th-ranked Hokies, 25-12, which included a 14-5 game-one win. Duke handed VT its first three Atlantic Coast Conference defeats of 2024 and it also marked the first series sweep of the Hokies.
