Flavio Cruz Cortes and Lucas Bontreger will be attending Goshen College where they were recruited to play for the Men’s Soccer team.
Flavio is the son of Sandra Cortes and Humberto Cruz and has two siblings (Kevin and Greidys). In addition to playing soccer, Flavio plans to pursue a major in business while at Goshen College. Eventually, Flavio would like to own his own business. During his high school career, Flavio was named NLC Honorable Mention his sophomore year and NLC All-Conference his junior and senior year. Also his senior year, Flavio was named ElkhartCountySports.com Coaches award winner, ISCA All-District first team and was an ISCA All Star participant.
Lucas is the son of Fran and Myron Bontreger and has two siblings (Sofia and Olivia). In addition to playing soccer, Lucas plans to pursue a major in business while at Goshen College. Through his hard work and dedication in soccer, Lucas has been awarded MVP (2016 & 2017), NLC All-Conference (2015, 2016, & 2017), ISCA All-District 1st Team (2016 & 2017), Academic All-State, four-year letter winner, Edward Jones Student Athlete of the Month for October, and a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete his entire high school career.
