GIBSON SOUTHERN’S NICK HART NAMED  HIGH SCHOOL ‘COACH OF THE WEEK’ FOR WEEK 6

Indianapolis – Nick Hart of Gibson Southern High School has been named the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week, presented by Indianapolis-based Corteva Agriscience and sponsored in part by Certor Sports, the Indianapolis Colts announced today.

In a battle of southern Indiana heavyweights, the Class 3A-No. 2 Titans defeated Class 4A-No. 1 Heritage Hills Patriots, 38-34. The win halted the Patriots’ 18-game win streak dating back to 2024.

Hart has twice before been named Coach of the Week (Week 11, 2021, and Week 6, 2015). His father, John Hart of Brownsburg, was named the Colts “Indiana Coach of the Year” in 2024.

The following coaches were also recognized as honorable mentions for Week 6:

Region 1: Casey McKim – Lowell Region 6: Josh Yoder – Lebanon
Region 2: Ben Downy – South Bend St. Joseph Region 7: Anthony King – Crispus Attucks
Region 3: Quentin Bowen – Fort Wayne Northrop Region 8: Curt Funk – Fishers
Region 4: Marc Hall – West Central Region 10: Reed May – Brownstown
Region 5: Jeff Adamson – Eastbrook

This season marks the 26th year the Colts have recognized outstanding high school football coaches throughout Indiana. Each week following a high school football weekend, one coach will be announced as the honoree.

All high school head coaches in the state are eligible regardless of their school size, league or division. Coaches are evaluated on various factors including the coach’s impact on the team, school and community, as well as the team’s performance. The honorees are selected by a panel of football media, former athletic directors and other football representatives from across the state.

At the conclusion of the high school season, each winning coach will receive a $1,000 donation from the NFL Foundation, as well as a commemorative plaque. What’s more, Corteva Agriscience will contribute an additional $1,000 to the school’s athletic fund. Certor Sports will issue a $1,000 helmet credit to each winning program’s athletic department.
