Grace announces 2023 inductees for Lancer Hall of Fame
WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Grace College athletic department is pleased to announce the four newest members of the Lancer Hall of Fame.
The 2023 induction class will include: Marcus Moore, Eric Gaff, Dana Johnston and Gary Blevins. The group will be the 17th class in Grace’s Hall of Fame. They will be honored at the annual Hall of Fame breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.
“It’s exciting to honor Grace’s rich athletic history,” said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. “This is an accomplished group of people who have added much to Grace Athletics. They deserve to be recognized for their contributions to our institution.”
Moore was an All-American on Grace’s men’s basketball team from 2004-08. He graduated as the No. 2 all-time leading scorer in program history, racking up 2,351 points over his storied career. He earned NAIA All-American status three times to go along with four NCCAA All-American nods.
Gaff also played on the men’s basketball team for four seasons (2005-09) and was one of the most dominant post players in team history. After his senior season he was selected as a First Team All-American by both the NAIA and NCCAA. He was an All-American as a junior as well and currently ranks No. 2 in career rebounds and No. 1 in blocks.
Johnston starred on Grace’s volleyball team from 2010-13. Her remarkable career landed her among Grace’s best on both sides of the net. She finished her career ranked in the top 10 for both kills and blocks. Johnston was a three-time NCCAA All-American and was honorable mention for NAIA All-American following the 2013 season.
Blevins was a multi-sport athlete from 1979-83. His memorable career included an incredible 11 varsity letters as a member of the tennis, basketball and baseball teams. His teams performed well, including an NCCAA national runner-up performance (basketball) and a conference title (tennis). Blevins was an NCCAA All-American in basketball as well.
“We want to thank those individuals who have brought much distinction and honor to Grace College and have established a tradition of Christian excellence which is incomparable,” Briscoe continued. “These achievements have touched everyone associated with Grace College both in and out of the arena of athletics.”
