Grace announces 2025 inductees for Lancer Hall of Fame
WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Grace College athletic department is pleased to announce the newest members of the Lancer Hall of Fame.
The 2025 induction class will include: Deb Wingard (Uphouse), Brooke Little (Shell), Greg Miller, Mark and Kelly Sharp as well as Dr. Bill and Debbie Katip.
The group will be the 19th class in Grace’s Hall of Fame. They will be honored at the annual Hall of Fame breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Westminster Hall.
“It’s exciting to honor Grace’s rich athletic history,” said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. “This is an extremely accomplished group of people who have added much to Grace Athletics. They deserve to be recognized for their contributions to our institution.”
Wingard was a Lancer pioneer, playing at Grace from 1962-66. She played in the early days of women’s sports at Grace, helping pave the way for future generations of female athletes at Grace. She was the top scorer on the women’s basketball team and transitioned into a successful career in athletics upon graduation from Grace.
Little was one of the top softball players in Grace’s history, playing from 2013-15. She was an NAIA honorable mention All-American in 2014 and was a three-time NCCAA All-American and three-time All-Crossroads League performer. Her offensive stats were impressive. Despite playing for three years, she still ranks No. 1 in career batting average, runs and triples and is No. 2 in hits and stolen bases.
Miller was an All-American on Grace’s men’s basketball team from 2010-14. He earned NAIA honorable mention All-American status in 2013 and 2014. He helped lead Grace to three NAIA tournaments in four years, including a Final Four run in 2013 where he was named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team. Miller was also the 2014 NCCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and the Pete Maravich Award recipient.
Mark and Kelly Sharp have been mainstays of Grace’s athletic department for multiple decades. Sharp served as Grace’s athletic office manager from 2007-25, providing years of care, excellence and service to the Lancers’ student-athletes, coaches and fans.
Dr. Bill and Debbie Katip were pivotal members of the Grace community for many years. The pair graduated from Grace. Bill served as the president of Grace for eight years. He was instrumental in the rise of Grace’s athletic department, promoting the hiring of full-time coaches, adding multiple sports and overseeing several facility constructions, including at soccer, softball and track and field.
“We want to thank those individuals who have brought much distinction and honor to Grace College and have established a tradition of Christian excellence which is incomparable,” Briscoe continued. “These achievements have touched everyone associated with Grace College both in and out of the arena of athletics. We look forward to a special weekend honoring this group.”
