Holy Cross MBB outlast Judson

First Half: 

The Holy Cross College men’s basketball team found themselves in a hard-fought battle against Judson University, heading into halftime tied at 35-35. The Saints displayed an efficient offensive effort, shooting 14-of-29 from the field, but struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just 5-of-16 three-point attempts. Joey Garwood (Elkhart, IN / Penn HS) led the charge with an impressive 18-point first half, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and knocking down three three pointers. Justin O’Neal (Dayton, OH / Dunbar HS) added 7 points, while Nash Hostetler (Dublin, OH / Dublin Coffman HS) chipped in 3 points and 3 rebounds. Phil Robles ii (South Bend, IN / Purdue Fort Wayne) facilitated the offense with 3 assists, and Davide Brembilla (Alghero, Italy / Don Bosco Prep) contributed 2 points and an assist. On the defensive end, the Saints grabbed 14 rebounds, with Robles ii leading the way with 4 boards. They also forced 2 steals and a block, but turnovers remained a concern with 6 giveaways in the half.

Second Half: 

In a nail-biting finish, the Holy Cross College men’s basketball team pulled off a 75-73 win over Judson University, securing the victory in the final moments of an intense second half. After entering the break tied 35-35, the game remained a back-and-forth battle until the closing seconds, with clutch performances from Phil Robles II and Joey Garwood sealing the win. Joey Garwood delivered in key moments, scoring 14 second-half points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 2 crucial three-pointers and a pair of free throws. Justin O’Neal added 11 points, going 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, while Nash Hostetler chipped in 7 points. Phil Robles II came up big on defense, grabbing 3 rebounds and 2 steals, helping the Saints lock down Judson in the closing possessions. The Saints shot an efficient 14-of-29 from the field in the second half and capitalized on free throws, converting 9-of-11 at the line. Defensively, they secured 13 rebounds and 4 steals, staying aggressive despite the high-pressure situation.
