Holy Cross Men’s and Women settle for tie at TIU

HOLY CROSS WOMEN’S SOCCER DRAW WITH TROJANS 1-1

Deerfield, Ill. The Holy Cross College women’s soccer returned to CCAC action this afternoon when they traveled to Trinity International University. The Saints would take an early 1-0 lead with a goal scored by Abby Craig with Lauren Cernak credited with the assist. Holy Cross limited the Trojans to just two shots in the first half, as the game would enter halftime with a Saints’ 1-0 lead. The lone goal would last for most of the second, until TIU was able to score the equalizing goal in the 88th minute. The Saints and Trojans would end in a 1-1 draw. With the tie, Holy Cross stands at 4-4-7 overall and 3-4-3 in league play, while TIU moves to 3-10-2 and 2-7-1.

Deerfield, Ill. The Holy Cross College men’s soccer team faced Trinity International University this afternoon in a road CCAC matchup. Martin Von Thun was able to find the back of the net on a deflection from a Saints’ corner kick in the 17th minute. The goal would remain, as Holy Cross would enter halftime with a 1-0 lead. Late in the match, TIU was able to score a goal of their own in the 86th minute. The match would end in a 1-1 draw. With the tie, Holy Cross stands at 7-4-3 overall and 5-1-3 in league play, while TIU moves to 7-6-1 and 4-4-1.
