Holy Cross Men’s Basketball rolls in season opener

Notre Dame, Ind.  The Holy Cross College men’s basketball team began their 2023-2024 season this evening when they hosted East West University in a non-conference matchup. Midway through the first half, the Saints would take a 20-10 lead after a Justin O’Neal cutting layup.

With five minutes remaining in the half, HC would increase the lead to 30-10, but East West was able to battle back late in the half, as the Saints would lead 39-25 at half. A Drew Mata three at the 10:44 mark in the second half, extended the Saints’ lead back to 20.

The Phantoms were unable to come back, as Holy Cross would go on to win 84-64. With the win, Holy Cross beings the season 1-0 while East West drops to 0-3.
