Notre Dame, Ind. — The Holy Cross College women’s soccer team wrapped up their regular season with a dominant 2–0 victory over Indiana University South Bend on Saturday evening at Saints Field.

The Saints controlled possession from start to finish, outshooting the Titans 25–6 and generating consistent offensive pressure throughout the match.

After a series of near misses early in the first half, Holy Cross broke through in the 43rd minute when Miriam Iturriaga-Sanchez found the back of the net off a well-placed assist from Quinn Pankiewicz, giving the Saints a 1–0 lead heading into halftime.

Holy Cross extended their advantage in the 55th minute when Abigail Fouts converted a chance created by Pankiewicz, who tallied her second assist of the match. Despite missing a penalty kick earlier in the half, the Saints maintained full control, keeping the Titans defense on their heels.

Defensively, the Saints were steady and organized, allowing just two shots on goal. Goalkeeper Montserrat Alvarez Torres recorded two saves en route to her fourth shutout of the season.

Pankiewicz led the attack with five shots on goal, while Frances Parks and Mia Garatoni each added three shots on frame. The Saints also held a 4–2 edge in corner kicks.

Both teams saw red cards issued late in the match following a brief altercation in the 89th minute, but Holy Cross held firm to close out the win.

With the result, Holy Cross improves to 9–5–2 overall and 8–1–2 in CCAC play, heading into the conference tournament with momentum and confidence.

The Saints will travel next as they look to continue their winning momentum in conference action on October 29th against Trinity Christian. Kickoff is set for 3pm.
