Holy Cross WBB fall at home to IUNW

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross women’s basketball returned to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play when they hosted IU Northwest. A slow start plagued the Saints early as they found themselves down 10-4 midway through the 1st quarter. IUNW took a 26-14 lead after the first 10 minutes of action. Both teams would exchange baskets in the second quarter as the Saints entered halftime down 29-27. After a pair of Sara White free throws, Holy Cross battled back to 41-36 with six minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. IUNW was able to end the 3rd quarter on a 19-0 run and take a 60-36 lead heading into the final quarter. The Saints had a comeback late but was unable to overcome the deficit, as they would fall 72-55. With the loss, Holy Cross stands at 12-10 overall and 7-8 in league play, while IUNW improves to 15-7 and 10-5.
