The Holy Cross College Saints women’s basketball team put together a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating Judson University 85–57 at McKenna Arena.
Holy Cross set the tone early and never looked back, outscoring Judson 15–11 in the first quarter before breaking the game open with a 27-point second quarter. The Saints continued their strong play after halftime, shooting efficiently and applying consistent defensive pressure to secure the 28-point victory.
Offensively, the Saints were led by Allie Caldwell, who poured in a game-high 21 points, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Kaiden Hanley followed with 15 points, while Laney Hawkins added 12 points off the bench. Brock Bittermann chipped in 10 points, highlighting a strong bench effort that totaled 36 points on the day.
Holy Cross controlled the glass with a 49–32 rebounding advantage and capitalized on turnovers, scoring 24 points off Judson mistakes. Defensively, the Saints forced 16 turnovers and held Judson to just 31.3% shooting from the field.
With the win, Holy Cross improves to 12–9 overall and 8–5 in conference play.
The Saints will be back in action on the road Wednesday, January 28th, as they travel to St. Francis (IL). Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM.
