Holy Cross WBB roll past Calumet in regular season home finale

Notre Dame. Ind. The Holy Cross College Saints played host to visiting CCAC opponent Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave. The Saints defeated the visiting Crimson Wave by a score of 85-48. The win brings the Saints record to 15-15 overall and 12-8 in CCAC play to end the regular season. With the loss, the Crimson Wave is now 4-25 overall and 1-19 in CCAC play.

Before tipoff, the Athletic department recognized the five seniors playing their final home game of their careers at Holy Cross. Seniors, Raven Delph, Alex Forster, Jessica Norris, Keysha Streater, and Madison Tomblin were all recognized for their accomplishments on their time here apart of the Holy Cross women’s basketball program.

 

Key Notes of the Game:

– The Saints shot 53% from the field while shooting 38% from 3 point range in the win. The Crimson Wave shot only 31% from the field while shooting only 16%

– Saints won the rebound battle 40-33

By the Numbers:

– Junior Kaelyn Barlow led the team on the day with a total of 22 points, while leading the team in rebounding with 10.

– Senior Keysha Streater led the seniors in scoring with 18 points, and also had 7 rebounds.

– Senior Jessica Norris followed up with 17 points along with leading the team in steals with 3.

-Senior Alex Forster had 10 points on the day while also having 4 assists

-Senior Madison Tomblin scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.

 

Next Up: The win for the Saints, secures them a spot in the CCAC conference tournament. The first round will be Wednesday, February 18. Opponent and game venue is TBD.
