Palos Heights, Ill. â€” The Holy Cross College Women’s Soccer team made history Wednesday afternoon, battling to a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Trinity Christian to secure the program’s first-ever trip to the NAIA National Championship. With the tie, the Saints officially clinched the CCAC Regular Season Championship, marking a milestone moment for the program.

The Saints outshot the Trolls 10-8, including a 6-4 edge in the second half, and dominated on corner kicks with an 11-2 advantage. Holy Cross created multiple dangerous opportunities, including a shot off the crossbar in the 69th minute from Miriam Iturriaga-San, but couldn’t find the back of the net despite constant pressure.

Goalkeeper Janiah Juarez anchored the Saints’ defense with a composed performance, recording one save and commanding her back line through a physical and fast-paced match. Abigail FoutsFrances Parks, and Erika Perez each tallied key shot attempts as the Saints pushed for the go-ahead goal late in regulation.

With the result, Holy Cross moves to 9-5-3 overall and 8-1-3 in conference play, capping off a remarkable regular season under Coach Duma Magagula. The Saints now turn their attention to the upcoming CCAC Tournament and prepare for their first-ever appearance at the NAIA Nationals, continuing a historic campaign at Holy Cross College
