HOLY CROSS WOMEN’S SOCCER GET DOMINANT 5-1 VICTORY OVER ROOSEVELT

Notre Dame, IND. The Holy Cross College women’s soccer team continued their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play this afternoon when they played host to the Roosevelt University Lakers. The Saints had offense early and often in this match, with their first goal coming in the 2nd minute by Lauren CernakLauren Cernak was able to collect assists for the next two goals, the first in the 19th minute by Abby Craig and the second coming in the 29th minute by Abby Padilla. The Lakers were able to respond with a goal of their own in the 36th minute. Late in the half, the Saints scored again when Taelyn Hendrickson scored in the 42nd minute. The Saints would go into the half with a 4-1 lead. Early in the second half, Hannah Lemieux put one in off a penalty kick in the 48th minute. That would last for the rest of the match giving the Saints the 5-1 win. The Saints improved to 4-4-6 overall and 3-4-2 in conference play, while the Lakers moved to 3-5-3 and 3-3-2.
