Hoosiers Defeated In Battle 4 Atlantis Championship Game

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Indiana fell to No. 16/15 UNC in the Battle 4 Atlantis Championship game, 69-39.

KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana (4-3) opened play on a 5-0 run before North Carolina (6-1) came back and matched with their own 5-0 run. Scoring was hard to come by for either team as UNC held the slight edge after one, 11-10.
• A triple from junior guard Yarden Garzon and a Moore-McNeil floater gave IU the lead with 8:11 to play. The two teams went back-and-forth midway through the frame as UNC pulled ahead on back-to-back 3-pointers. The Tar Heels would finish the afternoon with 11 made triples.
• Trailing 32-26 at the break, Indiana couldn’t keep up with falling behind on a 10-2 run at the media timeout.
• It was a lead UNC would never relinquish as the Hoosiers mustered up just 13 total points in the second half.

NOTABLE
• Garzon and junior forward Shay Ciezki made the Battle 4 Atlantis all-tournament team for their three-game performances.
• Sophomore guard Julianna LaMendola made her first career start where she finished with a team and career-high 10 rebounds.
• Garzon finished with double figures with 10 points.
• Moore-McNeil added eight points and team-high three assists.

UP NEXT
