Notre Dame, IN. The Holy Cross College women’s basketball team faced Indiana University-South Bend for the final game before Thanksgiving break. The Saints used strong shooting from the perimeter to defeat the Titans 72-56. With the win, women’s basketball stands at 6-4 overall, and 1-2 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Holy Cross jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the game after Jessica Norris hit two threes, and Tagin Schultheis and Eryn Leek added a three of their own. The Saints would continue their hot shooting and enter halftime up 36-23.

In the second half, Holy Cross continued their hot shooting and would increase their lead to 61-39 after the third quarter. The Titans would try to make a run in the fourth quarter, but Holy Cross was able to  withstand the run and go on to win 72-56.

Jessica Norris led the way with scoring 24 points on 8/14 from behind the arc. Fellow juniors Eryn Leek and Keysha Streater each added 14 points; while Streater also recorded a team-high 11 rebounds. Holy Cross shot 44% from the field and a staggering 57% from three, while holding the Titans to shooting 25% from the field.

The Saints are back in action Monday, Nov. 27, when they travel to Indiana University Northwest in a non-conference game.
