Administrators elected to IHSAA Board of Directors Six high school administrators have been re-elected to the IHSAA Board of Directors and three more will begin their first term during annual voting conducted within member schools this month.
The results of the annual elections were subsequently approved at yesterday’s meeting of the IHSAA Executive Committee.
Through electronic balloting, each member school principal had the opportunity to vote for the candidates running for seats in their respective district during the election held Dec. 1-10, 2024.
Those re-elected to serve a new three-year term include:
• Stacy Adams, Athletic Director, Valparaiso, will continue to represent the North District, Minority.
• Kyle Duncan, Assistant Athletic Director, Brownsburg, will continue to represent the South District, Minority.
• Chad Gilbert, Athletic Director, Charlestown, will continue to represent the South District, Urban.
• Patti McCormack, Athletic Director, Lowell, will continue to represent the North District, Female.
• Kris Painter, Athletic Director, Terre Haute North Vigo, will continue to represent the South District, Female.
• Brian Strong, Athletic Director, Logansport, will continue to represent the North District, Urban.
Elected to serve their first three-year term were:
• Jeremy Dexter, Athletic Director, Western Boone, representing District 2, Class 2A.
• Scott Kreiger, Principal, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, representing Private Schools.
• Ryan Harrington, Athletic Director, Highland, representing District 1, Class 3A.
Dexter, Kreiger, and Harrington fill current vacancies on the Board so they will each begin their terms immediately serving their respective
constituencies. The others will complete the remainder of their current terms this school year and begin their next three-year terms on July 1,
2025.
The members of the IHSAA Board of Directors, who also serve on the Executive Committee, meet annually on Monday of Week 44 of the IHSAA calendar (May 5, 2025) to consider and vote on any changes to the Member School By-Laws—which provide the governing framework for the
Association—that are proposed by any member schools or the Commissioner. The Board of Directors (and by extension, the Executive Committee) consists of 19 elected officials who represent member schools in all three districts of the state.
About the 2024-25 IHSAA Board of Directors
The IHSAA is governed by its legislative body, the Board of Directors. Composed of 19 individuals elected by member school principals from three legislative districts, they serve staggered three year terms. Twelve board seats are filled by any qualified individual (open seats), and seven board
seats are filled by two qualified female representatives, two qualified minority representatives, two qualified urban school representatives and one qualified private school representative. The Board of Directors meets annually with the responsibility of establishing the Association’s By Laws and regulations.
